Hi, I’m Cait let’s be friends!
Hello, friend! My name is Caitlin Winters, but you can call me Cait. I’m a wife of 10 years, a mom of four children from toddler to teen and a forest dweller living out my family dreams on Massachusetts’ beautiful South Coast. I’m a devout Catholic-Christian, stay at home-homeschooling mom and an Early Childhood Education student turned Psychology major.
I’m a writer and aspiring author and have had the joy of being published by some of my favorite outlets. You can find all of my pieces, where to direct inquiries and more by visiting my bio page: About Cait.
My writing journey started back in 2018 with this very blog. It was on the tail-end of the “mommy blogger” era and soon traditional blogging fell out of vogue in favor of micro-blogs on social media. That’s where I have been able to express myself, connect with many creatives and collaborate with some amazing people through the years.
However, social media is not like it once was. When I started writing publicly it was much more authentic. People shared snapshots of coffees and books, candid photography and raw in-the moment thoughts and feelings. These platforms have since been saturated by business ads, AI images and auto-generated captions. While socials used to connect creatives with audiences, these changes have cheapened the experience.
That goes for sharing as well. I feel the desire to resurrect my little corner of the internet to retain creative control, build something more substantial and connect with readers far beyond the scroll. I’m excited to have this chance to make content that is more worthwhile for myself and my visitors alike!
Despite these grievances, I’m still on social media so I can stay in touch with you! (My links and where to find me are at the end of this post!)
Bringing back the blog
So what will you find here? Fully original words and images 100% created and curated by yours truly! Nothing artificial, you won’t find AI anything here! The banner above lays it out (in no particular order! 🙂 Here’s what you can expect:
Lifestyle: Now, don’t click away just yet! I know that this is an overused phrase in the blogging sphere but there’s good reason it’s a mainstay. My lifestyle content will not be glitz and glam, but more like, well, my life! Think gardening, homemaking, thrift and underconsumption, slow life in our woodsy village, liturgical living, easy recipes and DIY decor and the domestic Church.
Parenting: Let me tell you off the bat, I’m no expert in this area nor am I the perfect mom, (Mama Mary holds that title!) I’m not (yet) a professional, so any parenting content from me is for informational purposes only!
That being said, I hope to offer some of the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my 18 years of motherhood. My recent college-level Psychology and Early Childhood Education classes have taught me, reminded me of and reinforced so much understanding of children, parents and people alike.
I began my studies when our fourth child was an infant and learning about biology, early development and the human psyche as a new mother; through a Catholic lens, was both humbling and enlightening. I hope to offer practical advice, meaningful reflections and helpful resources for kids, caretakers and families!
Faith: My faith is essential to who I am and the lifeblood of my writing. Jesus is always using my experiences as a wife and mother to teach me lessons about His love. They call us “practicing” Catholics, perhaps, because we never get it quite right this side of Heaven. This category of posts will include relatable stories from my life, personal devotions, favorite books and prayers, reposts of pieces I’ve written for others, inspiration from the Saints and how my vocation and my faith inform and transform each other.
Family: This is in no way a “family blog” but my family is my life! I spend most of my time serving, educating, nurturing and loving them. They are of the highest priority and greatest inspiration to me. As much as I want to protect their privacy, God has blessed us immensely and I aim to glorify Him through our many testimonies. From my teenage pregnancy, to our marriage and faith journey to our growing family and our most recent miracle-the healing of our daughter who was critically ill and hospitalized for 25 days.
We’re still recovering from that traumatic time and my sister set up an opportunity to help via a fundraiser for medical expenses and our daughter’s recovery. You can find it here:
GoFundMe to Benefit the Winters Family: Autumn’s Road to Recovery

Your support and prayers mean so much to us!
Homeschool: I started homeschooling five years ago out of necessity but have since fallen in love! Our oldest daughter graduated out in 2025 and I continue to teach my 4th grade girl and 2nd grade boy with a blend of classical education and child-led learning. In addition to this, I work hard shaping our 1 year old during the window of opportunity that early childhood is. I use approaches and methods from past experiences, my early education courses as well as personal practices and preferences like elimination communication.
I will cover the less-structured life, homeschooling through seasons like pregnancy and post-partum, societal pressures and assumptions and our educational experiences. Inspiration, projects, resources and freebies abound!
Where I’ve been
If you’ve made it this far you may be asking, “Cait, if you’re so passionate about writing, where have you been?” Despite my eagerness to tell the world everything God keeps teaching me, it hasn’t always been the right time. There have been changes, like adding another soul to our family, and challenges with mental, physical and financial well-being. I wrote a whole manuscript, which was ultimately rejected due to the publisher’s small marketing budget and ran my storytelling apostolate Motherhood Through the Mysteries for years. I was burnt out and confused, but Jesus knew, my story wasn’t yet complete.
I’ve taken time off, not just from here (5 years! haha) but my socials as well. I took on life as a full-time student, while homemaking, schooling and mothering my children and have been content with a full, yet slower, contemplative way of life. But creators always long to share eventually and the time feels right. With God’s blessing, I am moving forward. With my heart in my hands, I am trying again.
Where I’m writing
Its true, I’ve been laying low but, I’m still writing! I’ve had the honor to be a monthly contributor to Catholicmom.com. You can find my writer’s page and all of my pieces here. It’s kept me accountable, creative and connected while in the cloister of my home.
Stay connected!

Awesome! Excited to see you back, Cait! Whatever became of Motherhood through the Mysteries and the manuscript? If you are still looking to publish, I’d love to take a look at your proposal/manuscript etc. and offer feedback and publisher suggestions. Also, if you don’t mind the unsolicited input, I’d really recommend moving to Substack if you’re wanting to join the great blogging revival (unless you want to do a lot of visual/photo content; it’s not great for that). I have found that it is much easier to grow on Substack than WP, etc.
Glad you’re back and loving the homeschool life! (us too, same ages it sounds like). Can’t wait to see where God takes your apostolate! Samantha

Hello Samantha,
It is great to hear from you! I still want to publish my book and have that as a future goal. I would be happy to have you take a look and hear your input when I am able to focus on revising the manuscript to include all of our recent trials, blessings and miracles.
I have been weighing the options of how to return to blogging and considered a Substack newsletter. I appreciate your feedback about the platform as I don’t have much experience in that realm! I am thinking that it may be worthwhile to diversify platforms for the blog and make my content more accessible!
As for Motherhood Through the Mysteries as a storytelling apostolate, I’d love to bring it back! I appreciate your prayers as I discern all of these things and move forward.
I am praying for you and yours; for a great school year and continued success to you and all of your beautiful work! Keep it up!
In His Love,
Cait
